Antonio (Tony) Salvador Ibarra, 51, died Monday, December 30, 2024, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kan.
He was born April 5, 1973, in Satanta, Kan., the son Jose A. and Blanca Estela (Sosa) Ibarra.
Tony grew up in Ulysses and graduated from Ulysses High School in 1992.
He married Jenny Young December 21, 2024, in Ulysses.
Along with his dad he owned and operated T&T Trucking.
Tony loved life and people and had a nickname for everyone. He would do anything for anyone, and often did. He enjoyed watching the Raiders and Yankees teams and cooking out with his friends and family. Tony loved to visit people and no matter where he went, he knew someone.
Tony is survived by his wife, Jenny Ibarra of their home; stepchildren: Davin Powers and wife, Triana, Ulysses and Peighton Powers Ulysses; five step-grandchildren: Paisley, Sayler, Dredyn, Iliana and Jakoby; brother, Jose A. “Pepe” Ibarra, Jr., Overland Park, Kan.; sister, Elizabeth Contreras and husband, Jason, Salina, Kan.; niece, Kaleah; and nephews: Tyler and Greyson; aunts and uncles: Margarita Sosa, Johnny Sosa, Mark Sosa and wife, Idalia, Gloria Hernandez and husband, Trine, Victor Ledesma and wife, Maggie, all of Ulysses, Alicia Ibarra and Guadalupe Ibarra both of Mexico, Salvador Sosa and wife, Sandy, Liberal, Kan., Katie Limon, Wichita, Kan., Josephine Taul, Ulysses, Annette Sosa, Hugoton, and Amalia Harrison of Kentucky, Jesus Ibarra, Ramon Ibarra and wife, Irma, Gloria Villa, and Antonia Ledesma de Nuñez all of Mexico; cousins and other family and friends.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Blanca Ibarra.
Visitation was from 10 a.m., until 5 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2025, at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
Rosary was at 7 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2025, and Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2025, both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, with Reverend Eric Gyamfi officiating.
Funeral Mass was streamed live on Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page.
Interment followed at the Ulysses Cemetery.
