Authorities in Finney County have made an arrest in connection with the death of a Ulysses woman in February 2025.
According to a spokesperson for the Finney County Sheriff's Office, deputies from their office were called to a residence in Finney County February 28, 2025, regarding "a woman not breathing".
Upon their arrival to the home, deputies discovered a female, 29, deceased. The home, authorities said, belonged to her boyfriend, Ricardo Galvez-Aguayo, 33, Garden City.
Authorities have not released the name of the woman.
An investigation into her death revealed the cause of death to be an overdose of Fentanyl. Multiple items pertaining to illegal drugs were discovered in the residence during a search, according to the spokesperson. Among those items found was Fentanyl, which was allegedly discovered in Galvez-Aguayo's room, where the woman died. Authorities, who have said Galvez-Aguayo "misled" Finney County investigators, and it was later learned that he was allegedly known in the community to be a "supplier of Fentanyl to drug users."
Galvez-Aguayo was ultimately arrested recently and lodged in the Finney County Jail. He was later released on a $500,000 own recognizance bond.
Galvez-Aguayo is facing the following charges:

νInterference of a Law Enforcement Officer; Conceal/Alter/Destroy Evidence
The person(s) involved has not yet been convicted of a crime and are presumed innocent. The presumption of innocence shall continue until such time that the person(s) accused may be found guilty by a court of law.
