The BMW Hospital Volunteers met in the Cooper-Clark Room of the Library Friday, March 12, at 9:30 a.m. Vice President Bonnie Walters called the meeting to order at 9:35 am with the reading of the Prayer for Hospital Volunteers.
Roll call was taken, and seven members were in attendance: Sue-Ellen Borthwick, Joyce Briggs, Daena Gallegos, Joyce Gilbert, Jeri Howard, Shirley Isbel, Taunya Lindahl, and Kim Martin.
Secretary, Sue-Ellen Borthwick read the minutes of the February 21st meeting. There were no communications to be shared.
No Treasurer’s report was available. The Treasurer was unable to attend the meeting.
Old Business
Vana reported that the schedule for Pink Ladies was complete for the next month with volunteers filling in where needed.
Kim and Bonnie reported that there were 34 donors who gave blood at the February 27th blood drive and that the next Red Cross blood drive at the Civic Center will be on May 13th.
Gift shop sales are steady and the schedule for volunteers at the gift shop is complete.
As of today, there has only been one scholarship application received. Deadline is March 31st and has been advertised in the newspaper and on Facebook.
Jeri Howard reported that she is planning to post pictures of our new Hospital Volunteers.
The gift shop will be closed during an upcoming funeral this Thursday so that workers can attend.
New Business
The sign-up sheet for the May 13th blood drive was circulated for canteen workers and volunteers to make cookies.
Jeri Howard is arranging for the Hospital Volunteers to have t-shirts with the new logo printed on them. She passed around pictures of the three color options. She will email the members who were not able to attend the meeting today to get their choices on the color, style and sizes. She is planning to get more information to report back at the May meeting.
Further plans for the April 9th District 6 meeting in Ulysses were discussed. Daena and Bonnie are in charge of decorations and Jeri will handle the registration table.
Since the April meeting will be the annual District 6 meeting and will be held at Bear Creek, the next meeting of the BWM Hospital Volunteers will be held at the Cooper Clark room at the library on May 14th.
