Oasis Church: Gives more than $40,000 annually in food and hygiene supplies; partners with the city and participates in community events. Candy Fest is planned for October, with an expected 800-1,000 children and 20,000-30,000 pieces of candy.
Grant County Library: Parent-child workshops for children ages 0-5. Another workshop is scheduled for Aug. 28.
Community Core Graduation: The third class is graduating Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m. at Ulysses Church of Christ. 16 graduates are expected.
Scouting Recruitment: Recruitment kickoff Aug. 29 at the Scout House. Activities include BB guns and water slides.
Girl’s Troop Car Wash: Girl’s Troop hosted car wash Aug. 22, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Bank of Ulysses.

Meet the Tigers Fall Showcase: Took place Aug. 21. Included tennis, volleyball, cross country, golf, football, cross country, golf, and football. For more info check the school’s page and sports pages.
Events
Wine & Whiskey Walk: Second annual event. Held Aug. 22 on Main Street. 22 participating businesses. Passports: $25. Wine glasses provided for participants. Ended at the Gazebo where Adam Mathis played. Completed passports entered a raffle for a wine basket containing three bottles of wine and other items.
Home Products Dinner: Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center. Includes comedy event. Buttons are $15 and available at several Ulysses businesses including American Implement, Bank of Ulysses, Before & Crafter, City Hall, Dream First Bank, Golden Plains Credit Union, Grant County Bank, Grant County Drug, Grant County Senior Center, and Lowe’s Market.
Agave Azul Concert: Sept. 4, 7-10 p.m. Kyle Austin and Friends from Nashville performing. Tickets are $10.
Fall Fest: Oct. 3. Car show returning. Registration available online or the day of the event. Vendors, concert, beer garden, and family activities planned.
Fundraisers
Forever Friends: Annual Pars for Paws golf tournament is Sept. 12. Fourth annual gala: Sept. 19, tickets $65/person or $120/couple. A car is being auctioned at the gala.
Ginger's Hope: Night golf tournament Sept. 5. Four-person scramble, nine holes after dark. Pre-golf activities begin at 6:30 p.m. Includes prizes, raffles, and a best-decorated-cart competition. Wear your best glow in the dark gear.
Reese-Cole: A fundraiser to support Jessica Reese-Cole and her family is taking place. Donations can be made through the Jessica Reese-Cole Medical Fund at Grant County Bank or the donation jar at Reese’s Flowers & Gifts, and meals can be provided through the Meal Train for Jessica. American Legion Lifeline Screening: Lifeline screening scheduled for Sept. 10 at the Legion building on Main Street. Appointments are recommended.
Mobile 3D Mammography: Scheduled for Sept. 15-16. Appointments through the health department. They work with your insurance and cash price mentioned as $129.
Flu Clinic: Flu drive through planned for Oct. 1.
Grant County Community Health Fair: Nov. 7, 7-10:30 a.m. Free lab tests and cancer screenings.
