Chamber Coffee Hosted At Pioneer Communications

Following a brief break, the weekly Chamber Coffee resumed, hosted by the committee of the 60th Annual Home Products Dinner on Friday, September 15, at Pioneer Communications.

Senior Committee Member Jose Perez started the occasion by introducing committee members: KJ Freeman, Dustin Walker, Deana Gallegos, Kristi Breese, Casey Caldwell, Sean McKown, and Marcia Swann.

“We’ve all worked hard,” said Perez. “We’ve spent a year working on it. I think we’ve done an excellent job and, hopefully, that comes out Tuesday night.”

Overall, each committee member dedicates four years to the Home Products Dinner. Freeman added to the conversation, expressing excitement about the upcoming annual event which celebrated its diamond anniversary.

“We love continuing the tradition and sharing it with you guys,”  Freeman said.

Special guests made an appearance such as the

Ulysses High School Class of 1965 and the family

of Willis Christian, the founder of the Home Products Dinner. Entertainment booked by the committee included Comedian Andy Beningo and music provided by the Franco Family.

Hauser referred to the event as “a tribute to the community” given the amount of volunteer work it takes each year.

“We figured it takes about 700 volunteers to pull it off, and that is an amazing feat,” said Hauser. “We are blessed in Grant County to be able to grow the produce that we do.”

Mandy Jane’s Boutique will host the next Chamber Coffee at 10 a.m., Friday, October 6, at 107 S. Main Street.
