Tuesday, December 10 — The Ulysses City Council met with a short agenda to address routine business.
On the Consent Agenda, the council approved accounts payable totaling $176,155.97 and accepted the minutes from the November 24 meeting.
The first discussion item was a prior proposal to add windows to City Hall. Council member Ken Warner opposed the project, noting that the building had been remodeled previously to remove windows and suggesting the funds could be better spent elsewhere, and mentioned the standing need to remodel the Golf Clubhouse. Several other members agreed, stating that the proposed $22,000 could be used for alternative priorities.
Other city matters included updates on community events and services. Sarah Britton shared details about the upcoming Christmas Party, while Luke Grimes reported that city billing is on track to be fully up to date by January 31. Grimes also mentioned plans to publish a detailed billing process in the local newspaper and to work with customers who have unusually large bills. The council briefly discussed payment options and the possibility of sending out notices in February.
Council member Mark Diaz asked why the school tennis courts did not have nets installed and complimented the new Golf Course signs.
With no further business, the Mayor motioned to adjourn, and the motion was seconded by Ken Warner.
