Donation Supports Loaves & Fishes

Posted

A Mini Hereford shown by Harper Blakesly at the 2026 Grant County Fair is continuing to make an impact in the community through a generous beef donation.

After being exhibited at the fair, the Mini Hereford was processed at Plank’s Meats in Garden City. The beef was then donated to Loaves and Fishes in Ulysses, where it will help provide nutritious, locally raised food to individuals and families in need.

The donation was made by Sullivan Game Preserve and Daniel Canty Sullivan, in association with the Grant County Bank Trust Department. This generous gift provides an opportunity to turn a livestock project from the fair into something that can directly benefit others in the community.

The contribution of the beef will help Loaves and Fishes continue providing food assistance to individuals and families in the community. It also demonstrates how local agriculture, youth livestock projects, generous donors and community organizations can come together to turn a livestock project into an opportunity to give back and make a meaningful difference.

The generosity and collaboration of all those involved are a wonderful example of how local individuals, businesses and organizations can come together to support one another and make a meaningful difference in the community.
