Douglas Dale Nicodemus, 57, Garden City, Kan., unexpectedly passed away at his residence, Monday, April 28.
Dale was born November 11, 1967 in Aurora, Colo., to Douglas and Lorrie Nicodemus.
He was known for his compassion, generosity, and engaging conversation.
After graduating High School at Branson, Colo., Dale served in the Army and was stationed at Subic Bay, Philippines where he met and married his wife of 37 years, Luzviminda (Lu) Bernal Nicodemus. During his military service, he trained as a Veterinarian Technician and was awarded with "Soldier of the Year" recognition before being honorably discharged.
Dale attended school studying agriculture earning a masters degree in Agribusiness which benefited his career in cattle ranch management. In more recent years, he returned to college acquiring degrees in nursing and a license to practice as a traveling emergency registered nurse.
Dale traveled throughout the United States, exploring interesting aspects of this country. He enjoyed being with his sons and wife and cooking meals for gathering family times.
Dale is survived by his parents, Douglas and Lorrie Nicodemus, Moscow, Kan.; his wife, Lu, Garden City, Kan.; his son, Gordon and wife, Sharanda, and their children: Elizabeth, Chase, Vulcan, Brexton, Allora, and Ginger, all of Holcomb, Kan.; sons Dane and Raymond, both of Garden City, Kan.: sisters: Jodi Nicodemus and Sherri Sintas; his brother, Troy (Butch) Nicodemus; and extended friends and loved ones
