Elizabeth Ann Cheek Richardson, 88, Naples, Fla., passed peacefully April 11.
Elizabeth was born in Ulysses June 29, 1936 to her pioneering parents, the late Russell R. and Birdie E. Bechtelheimer.
She attended the University of Colorado, at which time, she met and married Wendell Cheek. During their 45-year marriage, they prospered in farming and ranching in Kansas and Colorado.
She will be forever cherished and remembered by her two children: Kevin R. Cheek (Carolina), and Dana C. Brown (Johnny); grandchildren: Brettney Tomasch (Roy), and Grayson Painter; and two great grandchildren: Jackson and Hudson Tomasch. Surviving family members also include stepson, David E. Richardson II (Lauren); and their children; Claire and David.
Lucky in life and love, Elizabeth met and married David E. Richardson, who survives her, in 2002, in Naples, Fla. Their keen sense of adventure led them to many countries around the world during their 23-year marriage.
Elizabeth will long be remembered as a great Patriot of America as both husbands were wounded Marines of the Korean War. She was a timeless beauty who was happiest being with family and singing in the Moorings Park choir.
She is proceeded in death by her parents; infant siblings: Lois and R. Richard; as well as her husband, Wendell Cheek.
Private graveside services will take place in Ulysses, as well as in Naples, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Avow Hospice of Naples.
