As the crisp autumn breeze begins to sweep across the fields of Grant County, there's more than just the change of seasons in the air — I have a renewed sense of community, collaboration, and local pride that comes each fall. Grant County Gives Week is such a great way to shine a spotlight on our local businesses and nonprofits that fuel the heart of our community.
Grant County Economic Development is continuously aiming to fulfill current businesses, attract more customers and retain businesses. This Season of Giving and Growth is the perfect opportunity for each of us as a Grant County Member to help!
Grant County Gives Week, a grassroots fundraising campaign designed to support nonprofit and exempt organizations within our county, returns once again with a mission: to ensure that every dollar raised goes right back into improving life here in Grant County. Modeled somewhat after United Way but with a hyper-local twist, the campaign guarantees that funds stay local — supporting everything from youth programs and arts initiatives to our local food banks and Animal Shelter.
Strong communities are built when local businesses and nonprofits support one another. During Grant County Gives Week, local merchants are not only encouraging patrons to donate but are also contributing to a matching fund pool, which amplifies every donation made. That means a $10 gift becomes $20 — doubling the impact, doubling the hope.
Economic development isn’t just about bringing in big businesses — it’s about investing in our people and organizations already here. By supporting local nonprofits during Grant County Gives Week, we’re helping to ensure those dollars circulate within our community, creating jobs, supporting families, and making Grant County an even better place to call home!
Grant County Gives Week is officially November 2-9, but events will be held all of October and the first week of November highlighting the work of participating nonprofits and showcasing the businesses that keep our Main Street humming. Whether it’s our local coffee shop offering a “Gives Week Special” with proceeds donated, or local Grant County 4-Hers demonstrating how donations help them mentor children, the community will see firsthand how generosity and growth go hand in hand.
The Grant County Community Foundation (GCCF), and a numerous amount of local volunteers, are the backbone of the Gives Week campaign, they continue to provide the tools and resources needed to make this effort successful.
In many ways, this fall represents a turning point — not just in weather, but in mindset. As the leaves turn and the days grow shorter, the people of Grant County are stepping up, hand in hand, to build a stronger, more resilient future.
By combining the strategic power of economic development with the heart-driven mission of local nonprofits, Grant County is creating more than jobs or donations — it’s creating a culture of support, sustainability, and shared success.
So this Autumn Season, take a deep breath of that fresh fall air, stroll through one of our local businesses, or make a donation to a cause close to your heart. Because when we invest in each other, Grant County grows stronger together.
