The Grant County Chamber Coffee was hosted Friday, October 3, by Furever Friends. Leilani Sullivan welcomed attendees and thanked them for coming before outlining a busy schedule of upcoming events for the organization and community.
Sullivan highlighted the Cause for Paws Gala, scheduled for October 11 at the Delgado Venue, located north of Frank’s Tire Center west of Ulysses. The evening’s entertainment will feature Weston Wilkerson of Johnson, with dinner prepared by John Fort and the All-American Beef Battalion. The event will include a live auction and a cash bar.
Furever Friends will also participate in Grant County Tourism’s Wine Walk later in the month. Additionally, Kylie Laar will host a Barn Quilt Class on October 25 at the Terry Stewart Building. The organization will hold a Spay & Neuter Clinic on October 9, prioritizing low-income families and pets under a year and a half old to make the effort as effective as possible.
Robin Leonard provided more details about the Wine Walk, which will take place October 18. Seventeen businesses have signed up to participate in the event, which will begin at Unity Park. Passports will be available for $20, and participants who visit all locations will be entered to win a prize. The Adam Mathes Band will perform at the park’s gazebo during the event.
Marietta Hauser mentioned that Dream First Bank announced the upcoming AI for Business Seminar scheduled for October 15 at 6 p.m. She also discussed activities planned for the Fall & Safety Fest weekend of October 4 and reminded residents about several community resources and events.
There will be a Health Fair on October 25 from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Civic Center. The Grant County health department will offer a Drive-Thru Flu Vaccine Clinic on October 7 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and a Mammography Clinic from November 2–4.
Hauser reminded attendees that PLD email addresses are being discontinued and encouraged residents to update their contact information with the Chamber to continue receiving “Blast” emails. The library is available to assist those without internet or computer access.

● Big Orange Boosters Hamburger Feed during Homecoming.
● American Legion Bingo Nights beginning October 6, held Mondays at 6 p.m. on Main Street, offering nine games for $20.
● The Before & Crafter Flea Market at the Grant County Civic Center on October 11–12.
● The Candidate Forum, hosted jointly by the Grant County Chamber and Grant County Farm Bureau, on October 30 in the Civic Center South Room to help voters prepare for the November election.
The Ulysses Newspaper introduced its newest reporter, Josephine Jellison, and announced a new set of coloring pages for both schools and the senior edition of the paper. A contest will accompany the coloring features.
Finally, Bob Dale from Grant County Economic Development shared updates on ongoing efforts to develop a dedicated space for local home-based businesses to expand their operations within Ulysses.
