'Give Up A Blanket For Lent' Drive An 'Overwhelming Success'

Posted

Members of Grace Lutheran Church hosted their annual "Give Up A Blanket For Lent" drive recently and were very pleased with how the drive came out.

"It was a nice collection this year," said Pam Patrick. "This drive was started by a former pastor to our church. We have been doing it for approximately 10 years. The community has always been very supportive of it."

According to information provided by the church, all of the blankets collected will be sent to the Orphan Grain Train.

"They will then be distributed to those in need. Orphan Grain Train sends blankets, clothing, medical supplies and other needed items to 73 different countries, including 40 states in the United States," they said.  "We would like to thank our community for their overwhelming support of our annual 'Give Up A Blanket For Lent Drive'."
