4-H members and Extension agents from five Southwest Kansas counties gathered Saturday February 21, at Elkhart High School for the 2026 Regional Club Days.
Youth representing Grant, Stevens, Seward, Haskell, and Stanton counties showcased their skills in a variety of categories including Reading, Dance, Drama and Novelties, Music, Demonstration Talks, Project Talks, and Illustrative Talks. The annual event provides 4-H members the opportunity to develop public speaking abilities, creativity, and confidence while sharing their talents before judges and peers.
Grant County was well represented at the regional competition, with several members earning top ratings for their efforts.
Mattie Metcalf received a Blue ribbon in Reading. Harper Blakesley earned a Blue ribbon for her Project Talk, while Kaiya Barb also received a Blue ribbon for her Illustrative Talk. In Demonstrations, Opal Underwood and Leon Wilmore each earned Blue ribbons, and Britney Wilmore received a Red ribbon rating.
Club Days events are designed to help 4-H members grow in leadership, communication, and presentation skills — abilities that serve them well both within 4-H and beyond. Participants prepare in advance, working with local leaders and Extension agents to refine their presentations before advancing to regional competition.
Congratulations to all the Grant County 4-H members who represented their clubs and community at Regional Club Days.
