Grant County Community Foundation to Host Chamber Coffee, Showcase New Office

Posted

The Grant County Community Foundation will host the upcoming Chamber Coffee and Open House on Thursday, September 26, inside its new office at the historic C.D. Hickok Building, 123 S. Main Street.

The Foundation is currently active in the annual Grant County Gives campaign, a community-wide fundraiser that supports local nonprofits. During a recent visit, staff were preparing for the Furever Friends Glow Run, which planned to light up the streets on September 20.

Several more giving opportunities are planned throughout town:

● Ulysses Ace Hardware is hosting October Roundup.

● Tate’s Barbecue will donate a portion of sales on Saturday, November 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

● Fired on Main will contribute part of its proceeds on Thursday, November 7, from 5 to 9 p.m.

● Good Dogs will also donate sales on November 7, from 5 to 9 p.m.

● Bear Creek Coffee will host a nonprofit fair on November 7 (5–10 p.m.) and November 8 (8 a.m.–1 p.m.)

● A Celebration Coffee Event will be held at Bear Creek Coffee on Thursday, November 21, at 10 a.m.

All participation is greatly appreciated, and the Foundation encourages community members to take part in these events and support local causes.

In addition to fundraising, the Foundation is proud to announce the creation of the USD 214 Alumni Endowment Fund, established in 2025 to provide long-term support for the local education system. The Foundation also maintains an active scholarship program, awarding 25 scholarships to Ulysses High School graduates this year alone.

Community members interested in learning more or getting involved are encouraged to stop by the Foundation’s new office on Main Street.
