Grant County Insurance Agency got its start in Grant County in the 1960s, and has been serving the area from 112 West Central Avenue in Ulysses ever since. Agent Greg Newell has been an agent there since 1989 and has been in the insurance business for 39 years. Newell was joined at the agency by Amy Hernandez in 2006.
“I purchased the agency in 2008, and between the two of us we have about 55 years of insurance (experience),” Newell said. “We are an independent agent, so we write for several companies, we have five or six that we write homeowners for, we have seven companies that we write personal auto with, and then we do write commercial and farm, also.”
“We appreciate the business you do here and the service you provide,” added Chamber Director Marita Hauser.
Hauser listed upcoming events, including Legislative Coffees with state representative Marty Long and Senator Dr. Bill Clifford, sponsored by the chamber and Farm Bureau. The final event will be April 19 at 1 p.m. at the Grant County Fire Station on East Oklahoma Avenue.
“They’ll give an update about what’s going on in Topeka, and then they want to hear from you – what are your thoughts, what are your concerns,” Hauser reiterated.
