Health Department Epidemiologist Wins NextGen Under 30 Award

Epidemiologist Allyson Payne Is Former Ulysses Resident

Allyson (Ally) Payne, the City -Cowley County Health Department’s Epidemiologist & Assistant Administrator, was recognized and awarded by the Kansas Department of Commerce’s NextGen Under 30 Program.

This program acknowledges & honors the accomplishments of young leaders and achievers across the state of Kansas. Through recognition, NextGen Under 30 works to encourage “the next generation of innovative, creative, and inspiring individuals who push the boundaries in various categories of endeavor”.

This year, over 200 individuals from all over Kansas and in a variety of fields were recognized at the Annual NextGen Dinner and Award Ceremony on Friday, November 8th in Manhattan, KS.

Ally Payne attended the ceremony and was presented with her NextGen Under 30 Award recognizing her efforts and contributions to the community in the field of Policy & Public Service. “I am truly honored to receive this recognition and feel privileged to serve Cowley County in this role,” said Payne. “I am eager to continue my efforts in Cowley County to improve health outcomes for residents and visitors from all walks of life.”

Tom Langer, the Health Department Administrator & Public Health Officer stated, “On behalf of the Members of the Joint Board of Health in Cowley County and myself I congratulate Miss Payne on receiving this award as a young leader in Kansas. Her commitment to our community and the health of our residents is inspiring. She is so very deserving of this recognition, and we are very proud of Ally.”
