Wow! That would be the word if one were to describe the Adobe Historical Museum in Ulysses.
When I first visited the local museum I was in awe to say the least. As you approach the adobe museum you get a feeling that there is something very special inside. The facility was constructed of adobe blocks in the 1930s, and once you step inside you will think you have come upon another time. The museum doesn't just contain artifacts - it tells the story of what it was truly like "back then".
Whether it's an Indian encampment, a freight wagon full of trade goods, a sod house, a soda fountain or military campaigns, the museum offers something for everyone.
Along with what is found inside the adobe walls, visitors can also take a look at the historical Hotel Edwards, which can also be found on the grounds.
The museum is listed on the State Historic Register and is one place visitors and locals won't want to miss.
Staff at the museum is there ready and waiting to give you a tour and answer questions you may have. Make sure this is one place on your "must see" list.
