Holcomb Teen Arrested For Bank Robbery

HOLCOMB, Kan. —A Kansas teen is under investigation for a bank robbery in southwest Kansas.

At approximately 12:53 p.m. December 2, Police Officers and Finney County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported bank robbery at Equity Bank, 401 N. Henderson Street in city of Holcomb, according to a media release from polcie.

Law enforcement learned from their communication center that the suspect had "left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, armed with a knife and wearing a mask".

Once they arrived on scene, officers and deputies quickly located the suspect—identified as Chase Walker, 16, Holcomb—in the bank parking lot. He was taken into custody without incident, and no injuries were reported. Authorities said evidence related to the crime was recovered at the scene.

Walker was arrested on preliminary charges of Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and additional allegations, according to a law enforcement spokesperson.

"This is an active and ongoing investigation and no further details will be released at this time," the spokesperson said. "Finney County Sheriff's Department is the lead agency and is conducting the investigation in to this incident."

Officials said information was released in accordance with Kansas Open Records laws "to keep our community informed about matters of public safety."

Officials from the Holcomb Police Department expressed their appreciation of the response to the robbery.

All individuals arrested are innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
