Ulysses High School JAG-K program hosted a lighthearted “Pie in the Face Day” January 13, following a friendly fundraising competition between students and teachers.
Participants donated money into jars, with the side raising the most funds declared the winner. The students ultimately claimed victory, raising a total of $144, which will be donated to the Ulysses Carehome to help purchase needed supplies for residents.
As part of the event, several teachers volunteered to take part in the fun. Mrs. Jennifer Hegwood, Mr. Chase Rietchek, Mr. Justin Coffey, and Mr. Mitch Foote each received a pie in the face at the hands of JAG-K officers Magaly Garcia, JuJu Meraz, Nathan Corral, and Malikah Garcia.
The event combined school spirit with community service, offering students an opportunity to give back while creating an enjoyable experience for both participants and spectators.
