Ulysses High School's Jag-K students hosted their very first blood drive February 9 here.
“JAG-K hosted their very first blood drive today," Rosalinda Ochoa, Jag-K teacher said. "We had 45 Donors sign up, only 18 were able to donate. We collected 25 units of blood and two power red. Jag-K students volunteered to help setup everything and help with registration and hand out drinks and snacks."
According to Ochoa, Jag-K students were asked to participate in donating blood, and if they did, they would receive an extra grade.
Ochoa said all the students who participated were greatly appreciated for their efforts.
"It was a great turn out," Ochoa said. "We (plan to) continue to host this as an annual event.”
