As the fall season settles in, local businesses are offering a variety of creative and social activities for people looking to get out and enjoy the community. From painting and craft workshops to festive gatherings, there’s something for everyone to explore.

MainARTery Events

MainARTery continues to be a hub for local creativity, offering a full schedule of upcoming classes and workshops.

On October 11, Grant County Gives will host a Paint Your Pet event with Valerie Unruh from 1–4 p.m. Registration closed October 3.

The following week, on October 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., MainARTery will host a Fall/Halloween Block Party Come N Play. This workshop is open to ages 12 and up, with only nine spaces available. Participants will complete two wood panel projects designed to spark imagination and creativity. Registration for this event is by phone.

On October 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., artist Michelle Nemechek will lead a Paint By Number workshop. The cost is $25 for children ages 6–12 and $35 for individuals 13 and older, with nine spaces available in each age group.

Looking ahead to November, Nemechek will return for an adult-only Snowmen Picket Fence Board Project November 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $45 for two boards, with 15 spots available.

MainARTery is open Tuesday through Saturday for anyone wishing to stop by, browse, or learn more about their upcoming classes and exhibits.

Fired On Main Events

Fired On Main, now located in the former Ulysses News office, is also hosting several creative events this fall.

On October 25, from 6–9 p.m., the studio will host a Sip & Paint evening in its new building, with another session planned in November.

They’ll also participate in the community Wine Walk and host a special Grant County Gives Event November 7, from 5–9 p.m.

Fired On Main is open Friday through Sunday from 4–8 p.m., and Saturday mornings from 10–12:30. Visitors are welcome to drop in, browse the studio, or learn more about upcoming workshops and events.

With both MainARTery and Fired On Main offering hands-on opportunities, there’s no shortage of ways for local residents to connect, create, and celebrate the arts this fall in Ulysses
