Once again, local businesses have came together to get the job done.
The Main ARTery in Ulysses was in need of a new air conditioning unit, so they contacted Air Comfort Consultants.
The domino affect resulted in local staying local.
"We contacted Kelly Wilson Crance," said Silar Rosales of ACC. "It was a local business using local businesses. Main ARTery used Air Comfort Consultants and then ACC used Kelly Wilson Crane."
Rosales said they took the old air conditioning system down that was on the roof of the Main ARTery building and then put the new one on the roof.
Just the process of swtching the two out took the crews around four hours.
"With everything that had to be done it was probably about an eight hour day for all of it," Rosales said.
The old unit was 3.5 tons; and that, according to Rosales is the unit size, not the actual weight.
"It's probably more than 500 pounds," he said. "With the package weight, there is no other way to get it up there but with a crane."
ACC utilized four of their crew members and Rosales said there were around three who came from Kelly Wilson Crane.
It is important for local businesses to work together.
"We need to keep business here instead of pulling someone from Wichita or somewhere else," Rosales said. "When that happens the money is pulled. If local businesses are used, money would stay in Grant County. Money needs to stay locally and we are wanting to invest in our community."
Another pro to utilizing local businesses is they are local.
"We are in town," Rosales said. "We don't have to travel. Someone coming from Garden will tax you already just for that. And, if repairs are needed - we are right here. Using local business is growing local business which in turn causes the community to grow."
