Moscow Cowboy Makes A Difference

Posted

GARDEN CITY - Garden City Community College freshman Conder DeVaughan, has made a difference for the rodeo program at GCCC.

"As part of our Rodeo program each year we might have students who aren’t necessarily planning on competing in the arena," said a spokesperson for GCCC in a recent press release. "We have several alumni who have went on to become very successful pickup men, bullfighters, announcers, secretaries, timers, committee members, and general stock men. Every aspect of the game is an integral part of having a successful product."

As GCCC took off for their first rodeo of the season, they left behind Conder DeVaughan of Moscow, Kans., to take care of their stock over the weekend.

"We’ve utilized many great 'feedboys' over the years, and with the recent well known 'tragedy' in the rodeo circle, we all know how critical a great stockman is," the spokesperson said, noting that, "not that the recent issue was due to fault of anyone on that place."

The spokesperson expressed their gratitude for the job DeVaughan did while they were gone.

"Thank you Conder for being an important part of our success," they said.

DeVaughan is majoring in Cyber Security at GCCC..
