Walking toward something new

Dancing, Speaking, and Singing too

Just 2 minutes is your chance to show

To prove you’re the one everyone should know

Excitement builds, nerves start to swell.

As you dream and hope that it all goes well.

When the cast list drops, will you be in the show?

Chasing your passion, as your dreams grow and grow.

The cast list drops, you didn’t get the lead.

A wave of disappointment, a heart that starts to bleed

Names are called with laughter, joy fills the air,

Yet in the shadows, it still seems unfair.

You may not have gotten the lead

But with this comes a planted seed

So, you embrace the part, that you got

And face the future which you sought

You step on stage, with the blinding light

And find that you fit in just quite right

With friends, you thought you would never greet

Together like one dancing with the beat

As our feet move from left to right

With melodies swirling, spirits take flight

We tell the story with every move we make

Making the audience feel the quake

Melodies soaring through the air

Drifting softly without a care

The stars compose their silent tune

While you sing your heart out to the moon

Silks that shimmer with each grateful turn,

Feathers that flutter, igniting the burn

Gowns that cascade like a waterfall’s flow

A piece put together with history’s glow

The director calls out, adjustments are made

In this world of creation, foundations are laid

With scripts in our hands and hearts on our sleeves

We create a story that everyone believes

With the opening of the curtain on the very first night

A hush fell over all, a moment of pure delight.

The glow of the lights cast a warm, gentle sheen

As dreams take flight on the stage, a world yet unseen.

The final curtain looms, the moments fly by,

As the lights dim slowly, a bittersweet sigh

Memories flood in, laughter and tears,

Each heartbeat echoes the journey of years.

The audience’s cheers blend with your ache

You think of the friendships and risks you did take

Each note you performed, every line that you spoke

Now wraps around like a comforting cloak

Tears slip down, unbidden but true

For the chapters you’ve lived, all the magic you drew

This part of your life, now drawing to a close,

It's hard to let go of what everyone knows.
