New Website Aims To Help Those Seeking Rental Properties Locally

A common complaint amongst newcomers to Ulysses is a lack of rental housing, or a quick way to find available rentals. The Chamber maintains a list, but often, they’re not told of every available rental.

Economic Development and the Chamber are looking to change that.

Economic Development Director Bob Dale announced at last Friday’s Chamber Coffee, that they were preparing a new Website to make things a little easier for newcomers.

“We’re on the verge of rolling something out through Economic Development that has been a problem in this community for a long, long, long time and we all just looked at each other and shrugged our shoulders about what to do about it,” Dale said. “We finally decided, we’ll just go ahead and do it.”

The housing rental Website has been in the makings for a while, but is not live as of this writing. Dale said it should be live soon.

“Our community’s never had one,” Dale said. “Lots of communities have some sort of centralized location for people looking for rental housing. We don’t.”

Economic Development created a free website - www.ulyssesrentals.com - for any landlord who wants to post residential properties for rent. Anybody who would like to be included on the Website can contact Dale at the Economic Development office, “And we’ll get you the information on how you can post your rental properties Online for free,” he said.
