Norma Mae Fischer, born October 9, 1925, in Perth, Kan., passed away February 18, in Ulysses, at the age of 99.

Norma was a true reflection of a compassionate and empathetic soul. She was a proud and faithful member of the Lutheran Church, living her faith through her generous contributions of time and support to the church.

She and her late husband, Otto, relished the thrill of travel, journeying across the United States by bus and exploring international locales such as Nova Scotia, Canada, Haiti, and the Panama Canal. Prior to settling in Ulysses, Norma and Otto lived in Wichita, Kan., for many years after their marriage.

Norma is survived by her beloved niece, Barbara Trotman, Ulysses; niece, Beverly Haines, Wellington, Kan.; nephew, Jim Newell, Wellington, Kan.; a large extended family of great nieces and nephews; and by her dear friends, Steve and Joyce Brom of Ulysses.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Maggie (Stamm) Wagner; husband of 74 years, Otto Carl Fischer; sister, Leona (Newell) Morrison-Carroll, and a brother, Richard Newell.
