The Grant County Historic Adobe Museum is bringing back a beloved community tradition with its 2025 Christmas Parade of Homes, returning after more than a decade. Our newest reporter, Josephine Jellison, sat down with longtime Museum Director Ginger Anthony to gather the details.
This year’s Parade of Homes will take place from 4-8 p.m., December 6, with tickets available for $20. Participants will tour five beautifully decorated homes across Ulysses, marking the kickoff to the museum’s many Christmas events throughout the season. Tickets may be purchased through December 6th at 5 p.m. at the Grant County Museum, or this week at Tate’s BBQ, Grant County Drug, Grant County Bank, and the Main ARTery.
During her interview, Ginger explained that the Parade of Homes originally began in 2011 and continued annually until 2014, when the event took a break. After thoughtful consideration, the museum team chose 2025 as the year to bring it back.
This year’s lineup includes two families who previously participated in earlier Parade of Homes events: Dave & Gayle Otis along with Marvin & Pam Meile, who have since moved into a new home. Their return helps connect the revived event to its earlier roots.
Ginger shared that the Parade of Homes was originally created as an opportunity for the community to enjoy and celebrate beautifully decorated homes during the holiday season. The event pairs perfectly with the months of preparation done by Beth Mathes, Ginger Anthony, Jessica Morphis, and Rena Alvarado, who have been hard at work getting the museum ready for its top-notch Christmas festivities.
This year’s featured homes include:
● Chloe Teeter’s on Sullivan
● Beaty & Sherry Annis’s on Lotus Avenue
● Dave & Gayle Otis’s on Joyce
● Mike & Nichole Winner’s on Road 13
● Marvin & Pam Meile’s on North College
If the Parade of Homes sounds like the perfect way to start your Christmas season, be sure to secure your tickets and enjoy an evening filled with festive décor, holiday spirit, and community cheer.
