Pioneer Communications is celebrating 75 years of dedication to the Grant County business community and to help celebrate, hosted last week's Grant County Chamber of Commerce Coffee.
Pioneer Communications Marketing Manager Bravane Phelps started things off by introducing some of the employees who pull it all together.
"This is a small portion of our team," Phelps said. "We certainly couldn't do what we do without them. Pioneer has a lot of great people working for us and has for a lot of years."
Founded in 1950, Pioneer Communications has been headquartered in Ulysses, since its establishment
"We are definitely happy to have been here for the last 75 years and look forward to the next 75 years," Phelps said.
Keeping his remarks fairly brief during the coffee, Phelps, with the assistance of Pioneer Communications Marketing Specialist Sheri King, gave away door prizes to those in attendance in honor of the company reaching this milestone.
Prizes included: umbrellas, cups, backpacks, caps and more. Those in attendance also enjoyed refreshments courtesy of Pioneer Communications.
Grant County Chamber Director Marieta Hauser expressed her appreciation for Pioneer.
"Personally, I would like to say thank you to Pioneer Communications," Hauser said. "They've been a great supporter of the whole community and to the Chamber in particular. Southwest Kansas Chambers: Garden City, Liberal, Dodge, Hugoton, Scott City and Ulysses .... we do a couple of events and Pioneer has sponsored those. I really appreciate everything you do for the community."
Phelps once again expressed appreciation on behalf of the company.
"Thanks again for Ulysses being so good to us," he said. "If you ever need to use this space, let us know - we're happy to let any organization use it."
