A traffic stop in Seward County, Kan., at 2 a.m., June 14, resulted in the apprehension of a man wanted in Michigan for attempted murder and home invasion.

According to Seward County Sheriff's Department, Darryl Damien Fisher-Stubbs, 36, was stopped for a traffic violation and when the responding officer did a check on him, it was discovered that he had an outstanding warrant out of Michigan.

Authorities in Gaylord, Mich., were searching for Fisher-Stubbs after being called around 1 a.m., June 13, to the Timberly Motel on Ostego Avenue. When officers arrived at the motel they said they discovered a 34-year-old man suffering from injuries "consistent with an attack by an edged weapon." The victim was transported to a hospital and was last known to be in "stable condition."

According to authorities in Michigan, their investigation indicates the assault stemmed from an altercation between "two people who knew each other." Fisher-Stubbs allegedly fled the area after the attack.

Michigan authorities listed Fisher-Stubbs as "considered dangerous, may still be armed, and to use extreme caution when approaching."

Fisher-Stubbs was taken into custody "without incident" and is currently being held at the Seward County Jail where he is awaiting extradition proceedings to be returned to Otsego County, Mich.
