Single Engine Plane Makes Hard Landing At Liberal Airport, No Injuries Reported

LIBERAL, Kan. - A Turpin, Okla., man was not injured when he had to make a hard landing at the Liberal airport.

Authorities said Roy B. Stikler, 75, Turpin, was piloting a 1977 Piper Single Engine, fixed wing aircraft at approximately 12:44 p.m., March 20, when the landing gear on his aircraft apparently failed.

Emergency personnel was reportedly on standby due to the hard landing.

Authorities did not say what Stikler's flight plan was.
