The Chamber Coffee October 24, was hosted at Grant County Senior Center by Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline.
Adam Mathes welcomed attendees and shared insight into Southern Star’s role in the natural gas industry. He explained the company’s extensive pipeline network and noted that their local site is located at the former East Cities Service yard. Mathes mentioned that Southern Star manages an average flow of 130 MCF using turbine compressors, helping keep energy moving efficiently across the region.
After his presentation, conversation turned to local happenings around Ulysses and Grant County.
The Community Health Fair took place October 25, at the Civic Center, offering wellness information and screenings. The American Legion still has two more Grant County Gives Bingo Monday events left this season, and Southwest Health Transport is hosting a Forever 80s Prom at Bear Creek the evening of October 25th.
Animal lovers can look forward to the Puppy Yoga event at the 4-H Building on November 1st, benefiting the Ulysses Animal Shelter. Also on October 25th, Furever Friends will hold a Barn Quilt event at the Terry Stuart Building.
For those who enjoy friendly competition, Core Community will host a Trivia Night November 8, at 6 p.m. Team entry is $75, or $15 for individuals.
Grant County Chamber and Farm Bureau will present a Candidate Forum October 30, encouraging community members to attend and make their voices heard at the polls.
Meanwhile, the Senior Center is taking preorders for its Enchilada Fundraiser, with meals ready for pickup November 1. Pioneer Electric will host a Lunch & Learn event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., November 14, at Bear Creek Coffee.
Finally, Grant County Recreation reminded everyone about their Trick or Treat Street celebration on Halloween Day, centered around Main Street — a fun, safe way for local kids to enjoy the holiday.
The Chamber Coffee once again served as a great opportunity for local organizations to connect, share updates, and keep the community informed and involved.
