Tamara “Tami” Lynn Rundell, 56, died Thursday, June 5, at her son’s home in rural Grant County, Kan. 

She was born February 12, 1969, in Garden City, Kan., the daughter of Arnold Duane and Linda Carol (Batman) Alexander. 

She graduated from Ulysses High School and later pursued her passion for healing and wellness by becoming a certified massage therapist, dedicating herself to the care and comfort of others.

Tami married Albert Jay “Gus” Rundell August 10, 1990. Together they built a life and raised a large, loving family until his passing in 2004. Tami’s proudest roles in life were being a devoted mother and "Grammy."  She was a source of strength, compassion and laughter to all who knew her.

Since 2007, Tami was employed with S&K Enterprises, where her warm heart and strong work ethic made a lasting impact.

Tami is survived by her children: Daniel Alexander and wife, Caitlin, Ulysses, Amanda Swimm and husband, Ryan, Buena Vista, Colo., Lacy Rundell and Travis Laurie, Camp Lejeune, NC, Katherine Rundell, Amarillo, Texas, Heather Rundell, Garden City, Kan., Rachel Rundell, Jacksonville, NC, Sarah Rundell, Garden City, Kans., and Cindy Flores and husband, Isiah, Ulysses; mother, Linda Alexander, Ulysses; brother, Mark Alexander, Ulysses; sisters: Julie Schulze and husband, Rick, Green Bay, Wisc., and Cindy Rushing and husband, Paul, Garland, Texas; and eight grandchildren: Gabriel, Michael, Joanna and Lilly Alexander, Xander Swimm, and Travis Jr., Lydia and Gideon Laurie.

Tami is preceded in death by her husband, Gus Rundell; father, Duane Alexander; brother, Steve Alexander; and sister, Sherri Alexander.

Visitation took place from 2-8 p.m., Monday, June 9, at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.

Funeral service took place at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Kelly Johnson officiating.

Graveside service followed at 2 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City, Kans.

Memorial contributions may be given to Tami Rundell Memorial Fund or the Cub Scouts of America, Troup #186 in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS, 67880.
