They had only one week - "basically five days" according to Grant County Recreation Commission, to learn their lines, songs, and choreography- all while "having a little fun - and it appears they pulled it off. If you weren't in a very special courtroom from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, June 6, you missed enjoying one or both of two free shows.
Officials from GCRC said 18 local students in grades first through eighth grade came together and "put on a great show" - The Big Bad Musical.
The storyline took place in a courtroom where the Big Bad Wolf was on trial for crimes against The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother, an old woman who owned the sheep with the Boy Who Cried Wolf serving as a "hostile witness", and Little Bo Peep.
The Big Bad Wolf, who claims to be a vegan, was represented by none other than the Evil Stepmother. Serving as counsel for the defendants was the Fairy Godmother.
Where else could you find Little Miss Muffet as an "expert witness", a reporter, and so many other delightful characters in one spot?
By the way - Muffet revealed her identity as the adopted sister of the Wolf.
Surprise ending - the Wolf is found "not guilty" in the end.
