It has often been said that all good things must come to an end, and this sentiment now applies to the Ulysses News Vendor, which will roll through the press for the final time on December 31, 2025. This edition will mark the close of its 36th volume and the 40th year since the Grant County X-Tra first began.
The decision to conclude the printed Vendor was not made quickly nor easily; it has been thoughtfully considered for several years. For decades, this publication has served readers in Ulysses and throughout the surrounding area by keeping them informed about local business sales, available services in Grant County, cars and equipment on local lots, and, of course, the beloved games. Over time, however, the rise of other ways to access this information has changed how people read and engage with this type of local content. Despite the conclusion of The Vendor, significant efforts are underway to ensure that “Grant County’s Oldest Existing Business” continues its long tradition for many years to come.
