KISMET, Kan. - A train/vehicle accident has claimed the life of a Hooker, Okla., man.
Authorities said the collission occurred around 4:28 p.m., Friday afternoon (February 7) at the railroad crossing on Main Street in Kismet.
David Vargas, 35, Hooker, was driving a 2003 Chevy Suburban Southbound on Main Street in Kismet, a spokesperson said, when he apparently drove around the railroad crossing arm and was struck by a train traveling Eastbound. Vargas was pronounced dead at the scene.
