Did you know that Grant County, like the other 104 counties in Kansas, has a go to place for improving Kansans' lives through education, resources, engagement, and leaders?

The place is the Grant County K-State Extension Office, and it is so much more than where the 4-H Fair happens. Do you have a home garden and need help identifying plants or insects? Your local extension has the resources to help in that endeavor. Are you a farmer or rancher that needs to test forage or soil samples? Your extension office has the resources to help.

These services among many others are just a handful of those offered in the Kansas State Research & Extensions Grand Challenges. These challenges aim to conserve and preserve Kansas' Water and Natural Resources for tomorrow. Whether it's water testing, gardening advice, lawn care, livestock rationing, or insect identification, they have the resources or contacts to improve everyone's lives in the community. So next time you have a question, consider if your local Extension office may be of assistance to you.

The Grant County Research & Extension will offer an Alternative Crop Program at 5 p.m., January 28 (today), in the South Room at Grant County Civic Center. If you are interested in keeping up with local extension activities, be sure to follow them on Facebook, or stop by their office at 1100 W. Patterson Avenue. Our local Ag Extension Agent is Lakin Cherry.
