A packed house at Ulysses High School Friday night saw a clean sweep on the basketball court, but a gym packed full of emotions as Ulysses celebrated pink out, honoring not only survivors of cancer, but those who lost their battle with the deadly disease.
The Lady Tigers Junior Varsity fell 38-25, the varsity fell to 4th-ranked Colby 63-17 and the Tiger boys fell 63-51.
In the varsity girls game, Colby opened with a 25-0 run to finish the first quarter, with a basket by Clarissa Sianuqui the first points of the night for Ulysses, coming at the 7:19 mark of the second quarter. Sianuqui was the leading scorer for the Lady Tigers with eight points, Devany Vitolas scored two, Erisbelie Alvarado two, Corley McCormich two, Yoselyn Lerma one, Abby Tapia one, and Piper Schultz one.
Colby came into the game ranked #4 in 3A by Max Preps.
The Tiger boys were led by Julian Meraz and Caden Ledesma in their 63-51 loss to Colby as the Eagles surged to a 14-4 lead in the first quarter and 32-16 at the half.
Meraz was the leading Tiger scorer with 18 points, including a pair of 3-pointers; Ledesma added 12 points – all in the second half – including three 3-pointers; Corban Dierking added seven, Stryker Berglund four, Aden Alvarado four, Tyce Perez two, Parker Browning two, and Luis Contrarez two.
In last Tuesday’s 66-61 overtime win at Cimarron, the Tigers overcame a first half deficit and fought back to tie it 55-all at the end of regulation. Meraz scored six of his team high 20 points in the extra period to secure the win.
In addition to 20 from Meraz off five 3-pointers, Corban Dierking scored 19 points, Caden Ledesma eight, Parker Browning six, Aden Alvarado five, Stryker Berglund four, and Luis Contrarez four.
The Lady Tigers fell 55-33 at Cimarron as Erisbelie Alvarado led with nine points, Nayeli Romero added five, Xitaly Castillo five, Isabella Sanchez four, Devany Vitolas three, Clarissa Sianuqui three, Natalya Sifuentes three, and Yoselyn Lerma one.

Avery Scott led Johnson with 24 points and 14 rebounds and Kenzington Nairn added 17 points, with 10 points from Hannah Canney.

Holcomb improved to 11-2.
Wichita County 73, Sublette 30
The girls from Leoti jumped to a 27-8 lead to open the Hi-Plains Conference game and rolled to the win. Sublette ended the game with a 10-0 run.
Aneya Puentes led Sublette with 13 points and three rebounds and Victoria Lee added five rebounds.
Stanton County 48, South Baca (Colo.) 34
Sarah Elmore led South Baca with 17 points. Johnson did not provide stats.
Lakin 50, Elkhart 14
Lakin improved to 7-5 and were in first place in the Hi-Plains Conference. They played Garden City Friday but there was no score reported.

Pawnee Heights 54, Satanta 43
The Lady Indians led 12-10 after the first eight minutes but Pawnee Heights went on a 19-8 run in the second quarter to win the Southern Plains-Iroquios Conference battle. Satanta dropped to 3-11.
Deerfield 57, Rolla 29
Deerfield improved to 5-9 and Rolla dropped to 0-11.

Scott City 41, Hugoton 17
Hugoton dropped to 5-8 and Scott improved to 8-6.
Southwestern Heights 70, Sublette 12
Heights led 24-2 after the first quarter and 49-3 at halftime to improve to 13-2. Sublette dropped to 0-14.
Syracuse 42, Stanton County 29
Stanton County dropped to 6-7 and Syracuse improved to 7-6 with the Hi-Plains Conference win.
Weskan 71, Rolla 33
Weskan led 19-6 after the first quarter and outscored the Pirates 21-2 in the second quarter to get the non-conference win.

Deerfield dropped to 5-10.

Moscow dropped to 0-8.
Stanton County 64, Deerfield 41
The Trojans broke open a close game with a 16-4 second quarter run to grab the win.
David Crane led Johnson with 23 points and 15 rebounds, while Gerardo Robles added 22 points and 11 boards for the Trojans and Luis Rodriguez had 11 points. The Spartans were led by Cristian Botelo and Colten Musil, who each scored 16 points

Spearville 73, Satanta 31
The Indians played evenly with Spearville in the first quarter but the Lancers went on a 31-8 run in the second quarter to get the tournament win. Ian Melendez had 21 points and eight rebounds for Spearville.
Holcomb 55, Hugoton 42
Hugoton dropped to 4-8 with the loss while Holcomb improved to 10-3.
Minneola 56, Satanta 51
In a second tournament game, the Indians fell to Minneola. Jesse Smith and Levi Lang each scored 16 points to lead the Wildcats with Smith adding 10 rebounds.
Lakin 75, Elkhart 44
The Broncs improved to 12-1 on the season.
Sublette 75, Wichita County 47
The Larks led 17-8 in the first quarter and rolled from there to improve to 5-9.

Deerfield 76, Rolla 57
The win brought Deerfield to 6-8 on the season and 3-0 in the Santa Fe Trail Conference. Rolla led 15-9 after the first quarter but the Spartans outscored the Pirates 27-13 in the second period and 25-11 in the third to secure the win.
Adriel Clymer led Deerfield with 22 points. Cristian Botello added 14Colten Musil 13 and Michael Lira 10 points and 17 rebounds. Trey Hill also added 17 boards.

Satanta 57, Pawnee Heights 47
The Indians broke a 12-game skid and grabbed their first win of the season.
Hugoton 59, Scott City 56
Hugoton improved to 5-8. Stats were not provided.
Southwestern Heights 64, Sublette 59
The Larks led 16-12 after the first period but the Mustangs outscored Sublette 25-16 in the second quarter to grab the lead at the half and went on to win the game. Sublette is 5-10 and Southwestern Heights improved to 9-6.
Wichita County 66, Deerfield 44
Leoti led 19-9 after the first quarter and 40-19 at halftime on their way to the win.
