The Ulysses Lady Tigers softball team kicked off the 2025 season last week in grand style, sweeping Scott City on the road 19-3 and 22-10. The Tigers opened game one with a 5-run outburst in the top of the fourth and plated nine in the top of the seventh to easily win.
Senior Addi Harbour was the star among stars for Ulysses, going 3-for-6 at the plate with two doubles and seven runs batted in, while pitching all seven innings, striking out 14 and walking none.
Senior Jovi Hauser went 2-for-6 with four RBIs, Clarissa Sianuqui scored two runs, and walked in a run, Jeymi Rosales went 3-for-6 and scored three times, and Abby Tapia went 1-for-6 and scored three runs.
Devany Vitolas scored three runs, and Yairen Molina, Hailey Pantoja, and Emily Metcalf each scored once.
In the 22-10 win, Harbour knocked in eight runs while going 6-for-6 at the plate with a triple, and pitched all seven innings again with eight strike outs and two walks.
Vitolas had three hits, Sianuqui three hits with a double and an RBI, Rosales two hits with a double and two RBIs, Tapia two hits and two runs batted in, and Metcalf, Pantoja and Molina each had one hit with Metcalf and Molina each knocking in a run.
Last Thursday’s double header at Lakin was rained out, and the Tigers split their home openers Tuesday against Cimarron.
