The Delta Delta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International recently announced that their Outstanding Senior Youth Award winner for 2025 is Samantha Scott.
Teachers, ministers, 4-H and community leaders were asked to nominate oustanding high school seniors for this award. The nominated youth were asked to write an original essay on the topic of "What is the definition of an oustanding individual and how do I personally meet this definition" plus submit two letters of recommendation for consideration by a panel of judges. Each nominee was judged on the quality of their essay, character, scholastic ability, leadership, and community service.
As the local winner, Samantha's name will be engraved on a plaque that will be permanently displayed at Ulysses High School. She will also receive a $300 scholarship donation from ESA's local Delta Delta chapter and her essay was entered at the state level.
"Thanks to all of you who sent in names or wrote letters of recommendation for this prestigious youth award," a spokesperson said. "Also a special thanks to the local judges who donated their time and expertise to this worthwhile project. Congratulations to our winner, Samantha Scott, for this outstanding accomplishment."
