The Ulysses News is welcoming Destynee Edmondson as a new student intern interested in photography and marketing. She reached out about opportunities after seeing an advertisement for the newspaper on Facebook.

In school, Edmondson is involved in cheer, Student Council, and FCA at school, with softball later in the year. Her favorite classes includes Mrs. Rendell’s public speaking class, which she describes as “very open-minded,” as well as Mrs. Rendell’s English course.

Outside of school, Edmondson enjoys drawing, painting, spending time with her family, and reading. Her favorite genre is romance, and she is currently reading Crave, a six-book series by Tracy Wolff about a magical boarding school and paranormal romance.

After graduation, Edmondson hopes to explore photography and marketing.

“I really like to design stuff to help businesses,” Edmondson said.

Her interest in marketing grew after taking a marketing class, where she completed assignments focused on introducing businesses to the public.

“I found that really interesting,” she said.

When it comes to photography, Edmondson enjoys a variety of subjects, from close-ups of nature to landscapes and country sunsets. During the summer, Edmondson was also asked to do a photo shoot for a group at Frazier, giving her an opportunity to practice photography in a more formal setting.

As part of her internship with the Ulysses News, Edmondson has already been given several assignments to choose from. She is considering covering the Western Prairie Senior Living Car Show and the Mums and Pumpkins Sale.

The Ulysses News welcomes Edmondson, and looks forward to seeing how her interests in photography and marketing can bring a new perspective to the paper.
