Athletes have been very busy this summer, including Ulysses High School boys' basketball team members. Under the coaching expertise of Brian Berglund and Raul Perez, the boys traveled to Colorado Springs recently where they won the tournament.
Berglund said this is the first year for the summer coaching during May and July. The boys themselves initiated the training by saying they wanted to keep busy working on their skills.
"The boys want to make a difference for Ulysses in sports and want to stay as busy as they can with sports," Berglund said.
They competed against seven other teams in the recent tournament July 18 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Those participating were: UHS junior Tyce Perez, senior Parker Browning, junior Jaxon Curl, freshman Diego Contreras, junior Luis Contreras, senior Caden Ledesma, junior Stryker Berglund, and junior Marshall Wise.
