A  New Program at Ulysses High School is helping students find more scholarships and post-high school opportunities.

The new program is called VU Scholarships. The program uses a student's metrics, their ACT score, GPA. Then in return, colleges, universities, and trade schools across the United States send out scholarship offers to the students. On Friday, January 17th the students at UHS were able to receive the scholarship letters and the potential amount of scholarship money offered to them.

The entire student body of Ulysses High School has received $579,162,060 in scholarship offers from 12,837 schools. Ulysses High School is also able to breakdown how many scholarships and schools are awarded by Graduating Class:

Total senior scholarship dollars: $131,527,720

Total senior scholarships awarding schools: 2,953

Total juniors scholarship dollars: $161,216,716

Total junior scholarships awarding schools: 3,628

Total sophomore scholarship dollars: $146,575,856

Total sophomore scholarships awarding schools: 3,189

Total freshman scholarship dollars: $139,841,768

Total freshman scholarships awarding schools: 3,067

The scholarships are constantly updated as students improve their GPA and highest ACT scores, more scholarship money is awarded, and more schools are added to the students' platform.

"The goal is to remove as many obstacles as possible for our students," stated Kevin Warner, Assistant Superintendent of USD 214. "These scholarships provide valuable opportunities for our students to explore their potential."

"VU Scholarships not only open doors for our students but also demonstrate that their potential is limitless," stated Kevin Warner. Ulysses High School and USD 214 will continue to leverage this program to emphasize the significance of strong GPAs and ACT scores. We want our students to understand that these achievements unlock a world of possibilities they may not yet have considered."
