Posted

Hugoton Middle School Lady Eagles vollyball team  dedicated their last home game September 24 to the families of Jilian Kelley and Veronica Butler, the mothers who were killed in the Oklahoma Panhandle. Lady Eagles all had yellow ribbons in their hair. Each individual player's number was on their hair ribbon. Their opponents for the afternoon, the Guymon Lady Tigers from Guymon, Okla., also wore yellow ribbons to show their support. Coaches came dressed in yellow. Fans were also encouraged to come dressed in yellow. Yellow ribbons adorned the gym, some stating, "Volley for Veronica and Jilian Night", while others simply said, "Coach Kelley". Last year, Jilian Kelley's daughter, Jaelynn, was an assistant coach for the team at Hugoton Middle School. Admission to the matchup was free for spectators.
