Sublette Soaring With Momentum

Special to the Ulysses News

SUBLETTE - The Sublette Larks are soaring in the right direction.  Sublette went 5-4 in 2023 marking their first winning season since a Steve Simpson coached team went 5-4 in 2011.  Sublette teams were accustomed to winning during that era.  The Larks are aiming to make winning more common place in 2024.  The Larks have 30 out for football with seven starters back on offense and six back on defense for coach Lyle Befort.  This will mark Sublette’s third year in 8 man.  Sublette’s players showed up at 5:30 this summer to lift weights bringing more size and speed to Ed Hall Field this season.

Some of the key Larks are Jr. RB/ILB Jonathan Froese, Jr. RB/DE Caleb Friesen, Sr. RG/DE Noah Friessen, Jr. C/NG Andrew Chaffin, Jr. QB/S Drake Webber, Sr. RB/NG Edgar Saenz, and Jr. WR/OLB Ashton Koehn.

The Larks were featured during Sportsguys on KSCB recently.
